Donation Policy

1. Nature of Contributions

All financial contributions made through OpnFundr are voluntary donations. By contributing to a project, you acknowledge and agree that:

• Your contribution is a donation, not a purchase or investment
• You are not entitled to any financial returns, equity, or ownership
• You are not guaranteed any products, services, or rewards
• Project creators are not legally obligated to provide anything in return
• Your donation supports the project creator's vision but does not guarantee project completion

2. No Investment Returns

OpnFundr is NOT a crowdfunding platform that facilitates equity investments or revenue sharing. We do not and cannot legally promise or guarantee:

• Financial returns on donations
• Equity stakes in projects
• Profit sharing arrangements
• Future payments or royalties
• Any form of monetary compensation

3. Donation Types

3.1 Direct Payment Donations

Donations made via credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or other payment methods are processed immediately and transferred to project creators according to our payment processing schedule.

3.2 Sponsored Video Views

When you watch an optional sponsored video, you unlock access to project updates and help support the project. By watching, you unlock access to project updates. Note that:

• Sponsored videos are provided by our advertising partners
• Watching is completely optional and free for you
• You can watch one sponsored video per project per day
• Minimum view duration requirements apply to unlock updates

4. Refund Policy

All donations are final and non-refundable.

Once a donation is processed, it cannot be refunded except in cases of:

• Proven fraudulent activity by the project creator
• Technical errors in processing
• Duplicate charges due to system errors

Refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of the donation and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

5. Project Creator Responsibilities

While project creators are not legally obligated to deliver anything in return for donations, they are expected to:

• Provide honest and accurate project descriptions
• Make reasonable efforts to complete their projects
• Update donors on project progress
• Use donations for stated project purposes
• Comply with all applicable laws

6. Platform Fees

OpnFundr charges fees on all donations to cover payment processing and platform operations:

• Stripe processing fees: 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction (charged by Stripe)
• Platform fee: 2% of the donation amount
• Total fees: (donation amount × 4.9%) + $0.30
• Project creators receive the donation amount minus all fees
• All fees are calculated and deducted automatically

Example: For a $100 donation, Stripe processing fees are $3.20, the platform fee is $2.00, and the project creator receives $94.80.

7. Verified Badge

Some projects may display a "Verified" badge. This badge indicates that an OpnFundr administrator has reviewed the project and determined it appears legitimate based on available information. However:

• The verified badge is NOT a guarantee: It does not mean the project is verified as legitimate, legal, or will be completed
• No verification of claims: We do not verify project claims, creator identity, or project feasibility
• Administrative review only: The badge simply means an admin reviewed the project and it appears legitimate at the time of review
• No ongoing monitoring: Projects are not continuously monitored after receiving the badge
• Use your judgment: Always use your own judgment when deciding to donate, regardless of verification status

Important: The verified badge is for informational purposes only and does not constitute an endorsement, guarantee, or verification of the project's legitimacy, legality, or completion.

8. Tax Implications

Donations made through OpnFundr may have tax implications:

• OpnFundr is not a registered 501(c)(3) or tax-exempt organization
• Donations are generally NOT tax-deductible
• Project creators may be required to report donations as income
• Consult with a tax professional for advice specific to your situation

9. Donor Rights and Limitations

As a donor, you have the right to:

• Receive confirmation of your donation
• Know how your donation is tracked and allocated
• Report fraudulent or suspicious projects
• Choose to remain anonymous or share your identity

However, you do NOT have the right to:

• Demand refunds for completed donations
• Require specific project outcomes or deliverables
• Claim ownership or control over projects
• Expect financial returns or compensation

10. Project Failure or Cancellation

If a project is cancelled, fails, or does not meet its goals:

• Donations are NOT automatically refunded
• Project creators retain all donated funds
• OpnFundr is not liable for project outcomes
• Donors accept the risk that projects may not succeed

11. Fraud Prevention

We take fraud seriously and actively work to prevent it through:

• User verification processes
• Project review and monitoring
• Reporting mechanisms for suspicious activity
• Cooperation with law enforcement when necessary

If you suspect fraudulent activity, report it immediately to fraud@opnfundr.com

12. Limitation of Liability

OpnFundr provides a platform for donations but does not:

• Guarantee project completion or success
• Verify the accuracy of project claims
• Endorse or recommend specific projects
• Accept liability for how donations are used
• Mediate disputes between donors and project creators

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Donation Policy at any time. Significant changes will be communicated via email and/or Platform notification. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
